Korean Party- Simple Party Menu

Banchans/ Side Dishes:
All of this need to be prepared in advance, and served in small bowls. However, a shortcut to this is to get all the stuff from supermarkets, if you have a bigger budget. I would suggest at least getting the kimchi  and the seaweed from the supermarkets, as it will make things easier.

Kimchi
Seasoned seaweed
Soybean sprouts Muchim
Spinach Namul
Garlic Chive and Cucumber Muchim
Bowl full of Big-leaf lettuce

Mains:
Dwenjang Guk (Korean style miso soup)
Rice

Drinks:
Barley tea drink
Soju

Simple Entertaining- Housewarming Party- Treasure Hunt Centerpiece and Menu

Since a new house is only slowly getting stocked, coupled with the fact we are busy giving attention to the guests, we can keep it simple with the decor and meal. After all, guests are here to see the house and walk around chatting.

Set up a table for food and drinks, and use paper plates and cutlery to save time on cleaning.
Candles set the mood for a housewarming party, so maybe a centerpiece like this will be great!!
(pic credit: digsdigs.com)

Have chairs around to encourage people to sit while eating.

Suggested Menu:
To minimize mess, it's better to use food that can be held easily, or if it's wrapped separately.

Sandwiches
Satay/ meat skewers
Dips
Buns
Cookies
Mini pizzas
Samosas

Kids Wanna Have Fun Menu

Since kids have quite a short attention span, the preparation time should be fast and interesting, and they should be kept busy all the time. I found that these cookies fit the bill.

1) Cut out cookies

2) Ice cream cookies

Then, the jelly, there are many different kinds that we could do, but in the end, i opted for konnyaku. It's easy and it's suppose to be healthy..

After Work Party Menu

All of this can be done in less than an hour, and with some help it'll even faster.
And if you go through the recipes later, you'll find that most ingredients are normal ones that can be found in the supermarket/ mini market nearby. So, if i need to entertain at the last minute, I'll just pick up the ingredients before i head back home.

Sausage pasta
This is really comfort food, I feel really satisfied after the meal because it's just delicious, and the best thing about it, I didn't slave in the kitchen for it!!
Salad
Our Veggies need only cutting and then combining with a herb vinaigrette.

Vanilla-rum colas
Yes, some do prefer to have the rum alone....hahaha...but if your friends are going to drive back after the party, it's best if they don't have too much alcohol. So, this should be just perfect!!

Dessert
Ice cream and chocolate sauce. Yum!!

Almost Vegetarian Potluck Menu for 15 people

It looks like we'll be having a nearly vegetarian potluck this time, not by intention, just that everyone prefers if we have more greens. That's no problem, that would mean that we have to balance it out with a little more carbo main meals.

So, after asking around, the menu will be:

Asian:

Fried Noodles

Fried Rice

Stir fry brocolli

Mixed vegetables

Fried Vegetable dumplings

Vegetarian meat ( specialty stores)

Western:

Pasta salad

Creamy potatoes

Dessert:

Chocolate slice

Konnyaku jelly

Drinks:

Fruit Punch

Barbeque menu for 20 people

Meat:
Estimating about 200gm per person, this should be more than enough for everybody with extras too. ( if your friends have a huge appetite, then consider getting more chicken wings, or 2 kg of pork ribs)

1 kg Grilled Fish
40 Chicken wings
1 kg Beef
2 kg Pork Chops

Salads:
We need vegetables to balance the barbeque meat, and salads are really refreshing and goes wonderfully with barbeque.

Lettuce and tomato salad
Potato salad
Garlic bread

Others:
Corn

Dessert:
We need desserts too. So, in line with our barbeque theme, we'll have:

Chocolate bananas
Watermelon

Drinks:
Soft drinks

Depending on how our budget goes, the balance can be used to buy wine or beer.
